From 1 December 2025, the State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced revised service charges on ATM and ADWM (Cash Deposit Machine) transactions. These changes follow the increase in interchange fees and rising operational costs across the banking industry.
This guide explains the new SBI ATM charges in simple English so that customers can understand how it affects their account and how to avoid extra fees.
Why Has SBI Revised ATM Charges?
SBI has updated its ATM and ADWM charges to:
- Align with the latest market standards
- Balance the increased cost of operating ATMs nationwide
- Match the new interchange fee structure set by the industry
These revised charges apply to financial transactions (cash withdrawals) and non-financial transactions (balance enquiry, mini statement, PIN change, etc.)—but only when SBI customers use ATMs of other banks.
There is NO change for customers using SBI’s own ATMs for most account types.
